it's cold. very cold.

ok, it's not snowing or blizzard-like conditions like it is some parts of the country but it's freaking COLD! colder than we south-texians are used to! abel was fascinated with the icicles forming outside. he just HAD to go out and get one. he also thought the dog's poop being frozen over was the coolest thing too. of course, i refused to take a picture of that.

we've had 3 days (4 days counting tomorrow) of stay-at-home-due-to-weather. it's been nice to have the extra days off of school but we're just going to have to make them up later. take 2dys off now make-up 2dys later. i just wish it would've snowed. if we were going to be off from school/work then at least let us have some snow to play with!

these last couple of days trapped in the house are starting to get a little crazy. we're all pretty much tired of just eating and sleeping and watching tv. i've had enough time to do a new layout, clean house, paint, work on lesson plans and so much more. yes, i even ironed all of my wrinkled clothes hanging in my closet i've been avoiding wearing. it's like i have a whole new wardrobe!
akasha the dog is also getting quite tired of Naima terrorizing her. it doesn't matter where akasha is Naima always finds her and makes a bee line straight towards her. akasha is just so interesting to her. and once she reaches her, if akasha doesn't quickly get up, Naima squeels with laugter. it's like she's reached a pot of gold or something. she slaps her ass, squeezes her belly, tries to put the doggy ears in her mouth...she basically does everything akasha is not comfortable with.

she's also discovered the stairs. yes, the fun has begun. she know's it a big time no-no but she could care less. she knows she can fall from it because she's already falled from the first step but that too is no deterent. she refuses to stay away. so, for some extra exercise around the house we let her go up while we follow.

and just because she takes me back to the 80's techno days with this "flock of seagals" hairdo, i thought i'd share...

and her just-woke-up hairdo is another fave...
