all clogged up

what i originally thought was pink eye is instead a clogged tear duct. my baby girl's first trip to the doctor for an illness was not that bad but i still wish we didn't have to go.
Naima is doing pretty good. you can't even tell anything is wrong because she's still her happy smiley self. however, the constant tearing and crusty stuff in her eyes is give-away that something is wrong.
my poor baby...i hate to see her little face like that. so, of course i immediately called the doctor. she quickly assured me it wasn't pink eye because her eye wasn't puffy or pink nor did she have a fever. she explained what a clogged tear duct was and how it came about and what to do with it.
we have antibiotic eye-drops and instructions to massage the corner of her eyes with a warm cloth at every diaper change. i hope this stuff goes away. because, of course, i've managed to scare myself by reading online about prolonged clogged tear ducts needing surgery at 1yr of age. geeze, let this tear duct open up and clear itself up soon!
